HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR ALREADY ESTABLISHED BLOG

Starting a blog is hard especially when you don't have a clue about what you're doing but the beauty in having a new blog is no one is expecting anything or paying much attention. The difficulty comes when you have been blogging for a while , you have a readership and more judgement is made regarding your blog. Blogging requires a lot of creativity and no matter how long you will blog for there will always be something to improve on or maybe do better. Blogging is so enjoyable but there is a huge pressure to be perfect and have your blog figured out with in the first six months. This wasn't the case for me, I feel only now after two years of blogging that I have a brief idea of what I want my blog to be. It is so easy to improve your blog even when it has been up and running for a while.

Forget about your blog name - I think every blogger regrets their blog name, mine was a huge mistake and something I will always find cringy but I have to work with what I have got and if I don't believe in my blog who will. If you dwell on a choice you made two / three years ago you won't move on or make the most of what you have.

Don't be afraid to try something new - I mentioned in a previous post How I improved my blog content. This was something which I was quite afraid of doing but I was getting so fed up with constantly talking about beauty and I felt a change was needed. I was very lucky that changing my content went down well and I feel people don't do it enough especially if you are an established blogger as it can be risky but if you have genuine readers they will always stay around and if they don't say you will gain new ones.

Reflect - Sometimes it feels like you aren't getting anywhere with your blog or no one wants to listen but what I find really helps to motivate you is see how far you have come. Look back at your old blog posts and I bet you will see a huge difference and it will make you feel a lot better about you and your blog.

Try a new look- Changing how your blog looks and re designing your blog can work wonders for your blog. Nearly everyone who updates their blog's appearance feel like they are starting a new leaf and feel very inspired with their content and blog. As a reader I love when my favourite blog gets a new look it makes reading their blog even more exciting and enjoyable.

Don't forget about interaction -  Sometimes when a blogger gains a reasonable amount of followers they forget about replying to their comments. I really do understand that some of the larger bloggers receive so many comments that it near impossible to reply to them but when some get twenty or less and don't reply I find that quite rude. I think it is hugely important to reply especially when they have taken the time to do so.

Will you be making any improvements to your blog ?

  1. There are all great things to remember! I also have branched out a little when it comes to my blog topic. I started as a beauty blog, but I'm not really one to keep purchasing new products if I like the ones I already use (and as a recent grad, I don't have all the money in the world), so I felt like my content was lackluster at best. I started blogging about things that I am more interested in and it seems like my blog reboot has worked!

If I could add one tip, I would suggest using a professional-grade photo to represent yourself on your blog and across social media. If it's high quality instead of a selfie, you're going to get more attention because it looks like you care enough to invest in it. If you have a friend that's a budding photographer, they can probably do it for free or cheap!

    1. a professional photo sounds like a brilliant idea. I also thought to have a successful blog i needed to buy beauty products even when i didnt want or need them. Writing about other things is so refreshing

  2. I love your 'don't forget about interaction' part! I agree with you on that. When bloggers don't even show their effort to reply in comments - I don't go back or not even bother leaving the comment.

Thank you for sharing your thought! I am new to your blog, but totally loving what I am seeing :)
This post makes me want to improve my blog even further and think more about it! xx

  3. Such a lovely post. I totally understand what your saying; although my blog isn't very established I sometimes lose motivation when it comes to blogging and don't get me started on my blog name haha x

  7. I don't like it when I see blogs that don't reply at all to the comments they get... I agree that it's a bit off-putting because people are taking the time to comment and then it's just ignored, it seems.
