Content is something that us bloggers have to think a lot about. I would say that I think about it everyday even if it's only for a few minutes. The content in the blogging world is changing , I am seeing less beauty posts and more advice and lifestyle themed content and I love it both for reading and creating. When I started blogging I never thought to write anything else but fashion and beauty because it had been the only type of blogs I had read so it felt only natural to follow suit. I love writing a about beauty I really do, from taking the photographs of different products or trialling some skincare. It really is fun don't get me wrong but can be very repetitive especially if you have been doing it from day one and not really writing about anything else.
I'm not going to lie my content has never really been on point or consistent. I tried to set myself the task to post four times a week plus attend school everyday. On paper this looks amazing for my blog but keeping this up was not possible for me. I began to just post for the sake of maintaining my schedule instead of posting because I wanted too or felt inspired.
I decided to then take a few small steps to improve my content and making it more enjoyable for you my readers and also myself as writing isn't my strong point when it comes to blogging. I have found that these small changes I have made have helped my blog interaction , stats and followers and whilst we are very quick to say these factors don't matter ,but they do as long as it don't consume you or your blog! The following are some of the methods I have used to improve my content
Write about what you love- this is a pretty obvious one but very important. If you don't write about something you are passionate about it will show even if you think it doesn't and I suppose we are all guilty of writing about something because we have to or everyone else is.
Change things up - I have started to write more lifestyle posts which I have loved doing. I just find it so refreshing from beauty and whilst beauty to won't disappear from my blog completely it's nice to have a break from something which you have done a lot of. Posts begin to become repetitive and boring and sometimes taking a break can improve your post when you go back to write about the topic you feel you have written a bit too much about.
Only post when you feel like it - I think that this is the factor that I have learnt from the most. I always would feel guilty or upset when I didn't post and I still do (it's something I'm trying to work on ) but I have to be practical. I know I would rather see less posts a week but ones I enjoy and can connect too far more.
What are your content tips ?
