WHAT I LOOK FOR IN A BLOG

This week I'm going to take a break from sharing my favourite blogs. Even though I love to let all of you into my bloglovin' feed its nice for a change as it can get very repetitive. Instead I'm going to share what I look for in a blog. To begin I suppose I have to confess when it comes to blogs I follow I am hugely superficial. I don't why I am like this but when I see a clean ,fresh blog design and bright amazing images I can't help but give it a follow. Not a great method I know but I swear I have perfectly good reasons.

Blog design - I am obsessed with blog designs as you can tell with my ever changing design and my shop but a blog design I think is so powerful when it comes to a blog. The design aside from the images is the first thing you will see and make a judgement on. If the design has 50 different colours and fonts plus a disorganised sidebar you will most likely not follow even if the content is worth the read.

Images - the pictures are the second thing I look for when I come across a blog. There's nothing better than to be presented with large and clear images. When I see photos on a blog that I love I will also give them a follow. I am very into photography so it matters a lot to me and in a silly kind of way makes me happy when I see a photo I like.

Content - whilst I love ascetics if the writing isn't any good I will more than likey not return to the blog or give them an unfollow ( I'm aware of how bad that sounds but honesty is the best policy, right ? ) I don't mind a few spelling or grammar mistakes. I know some people hate that and yes I don't like too many but when you see a few on an amazing blog it shows that there only human too and can make mistakes even if their blog to look at is perfect.

Advice posts - I love reading beauty but a change is good and I love getting advice and tips from other bloggers on how it has helped their blog or life. These are definantly my favourite kind of posts.

Interaction - I love it when a blogger reply's to the comments that are left on their blog. I think it's only really manners especially if someone takes the time to leave a comment.

So, I guess that's what I look for in a blog? Something with no fuss and clear, crisp posts.

  4. I totally agree with all of your points! I'm pretty superficial too which is terrible of me, but usually good blog content and writing quality, as well as interaction is enough to make me click follow.

  5. I agree with your points. I think the most personalized part to readers are the content, because most people like similar designs, good photos etc. When it comes to content, I look for people who are similar to me in skincare or style, or people who are totally different that would inspire me to try change here and there.

  9. I try to look at content first but sometimes blog design can be such a huge factor for me - it's probably one of the first things I look at and one of the things that keeps me on a page. If I can't read any of your posts I'm probably going to click out regardless of content.
Blogger/reader interaction is nice as well - I wish some of the bigger bloggers still did that!

  10. I have pretty much the same requirements for a blog.. also, good grammar/spelling. I don't like typos.. and short/concise posts. if it's too long and there's too many big paragraphs, forget it.
