THE FEATURE WALL

It's hard to know what to do with bedroom walls especially if they are plain white. Shelves and framed pictures are amongst the natural things to put on them bare walls but all that costs money something which I'm not fortunate enough to have a lot of. So I thought a cheap feature wall alternative would be a great way to give my plain white walls a little upgrade and unique feature to them. I used postcards from a collection I bought in TKMaxx a few years ago for no reason and they weren't doing much but catching dust so I chose a few of my favourite prints.

I also cut out magazine pages that I liked the look of as it overall looked better. To create the feature wall I ensured that I used odd numbers and had an idea of what I wanted it to look like before sticking it to the wall. This is a great thing to do on a day when you have absolutely nothing to do but want to brighten your room up without the expense or drilling holes in the wall!

What do you think of feature walls ?

  1. This is a great idea & I love that each wall will be unique! I'm glad I'm not the only one who has things from TKMaxx gathering dust! It's that type of shop though - they have some really good things that you have to buy before they disappear forever! Xx

  2. I really believe that you should buy something just because you love it and it will become useful in time. This is the perfect proof I'm right. They look great.

  5. What a great, cost efficient idea. I drift between wanting lots of things on my walls and having them bare and minimalist. At the moment I've taken to getting deals online for printing digital pictures and making a huge photo collage. Its something really interesting to look at when I'm getting ready etc.
