INTRODUCING SKINCARE

Me and skincare have never got on. I never know what products to buy and if I do the price tag to go along with it means I can't afford the products that I do want. When this problem has been resolved I can't seem to keep up a routine, I will do it for one or two days then after the products will be stuck in the cupboard gathering dust and never used again. I have made a promise to myself that I want to improve my skin and keep up with looking after it everyday. I wanted to start simple so I have only purchased three products. I think this works best if you are only starting out on skincare or like me you find it hard to commit.

1. To start off my skincare treatment I cleanse my skin so any dirt can be washed off my face leaving it clean and soft before I exfoliate or use a face mask. The product I bought for this is The Body Shop Camomile Cleasing butter which is a little different from your average cleanser. It smells amazing and feels like a balm on your skin. This is the product I'm trying to use everyday morning and night.

2. I love exfoliators but have found the manual vs chemical thing very confusing until recently. I'm still only learning about them and not too sure how often I should be exfoliating but I have set myself the target to do it twice a week. I don't want to do it too much and irritate my skin. I also got the exfoliator from The Body Shop and it's perfect if you suffer from blemished and oily skin. It's a tee tree oil based product and I love the benefits from the oil it's definantly my skins favourite!

3. Once a week I will be treating my skin to a face mask. I have had a hard time when it's come to face masks but I have finally found the one that my skin likes the best and it's the Soap and Glory self heating face mask which is perfect for pore proned skin which I sadly suffer from.

Time will only tell whether or not I keep up with this simple skincare routine but I'm on day three now and things are going well. My skin is feeling amazing and it's clearing up so I look forward to continuing and having the excuse to buy some skincare products.

Do you have a skincare routine ?

  1. If you ever have the opportunity to go to France, you have to stock up on skincare! My grandparents live there part time so every summer I come home with a basket full of exciting (yet cheap) pharmacie goodies x

  7. is the body shop exfoliator quite strongly perfumed? I love the body shop products but so much is over perfumed and my boyfriend says he feels like he is sleeping with a OAP at times 😳 haha

    Lovely blog
