HOW I CREATE A BLOG POST

This is sort of a weird thing to write about " how I create a blog post" but I really enjoy learning and reading about other people's routines and day to day structures. Recently I haven't really known what to write about in my blog and yesterday I sat down with my two new notebooks and decided to try and plan some posts and make my first ever to do list. I can confirm that my to do list didn't go down very well with my disorganised and lazy ways but I did manage to tick a few things off so I suppose thats a bonus!

On a busy blogging day like yesterday I start by getting my notebooks out which I recently bought in TKMaxx. In one I write out my blogging schedule that I would like to keep with for the week ahead but that never really sticks. In the second I make post ideas and a list of photographs that I have to take. When I'm trying to think of things I want to feature on my blog I tend to firstly go to my make up stash and just look at it or play around with a few things and this usually triggers the beauty posts for my blog. If that doesn't work then I usually go onto my bloglovin' feed or my favourite blogs which also helps my creative mind to get working, Pinterest has also been getting a lot of love from me I sometimes type in beauty or simply blogging to see what comes up. I have discovered some great articles from typing that in.

Once I have the ideas and they are safely written down in my notebook so I don't forget I move on to planning my photographs on a good lightning day I try and take as many photographs as possible choosing the right props and products that I will need to make the best photographs. I will then upload the photos onto my computer and edit them using Pixlr my favourite photo editing site adjusting the brightness and contrast of each photo.

This then brings me onto the actually post. When the photos have uploaded onto blogger I begin writing the post then adding the title. I will either publish the post straight away or schedule it for the next day, a tweet an Instagram image will follow.

That's how I create a blog post ? How do you create yours ?

  1. "On a good lighting day" really hit home. I try to take a ton of photos on these days and "schedule" posts because if a good lighting day doesn't come around for a week, I don't take photos for a week. My photos are sometimes super specific for a pre-planned post or just of things I find beautiful which I can piece together later. This is basically my blogging process, I have recently starting using a notebook to keep track of my blog too!

  2. Loved this post, I find it really interesting to see how other blog. I wake up and check my bloglovin feed for inspiration, then i'll check my favourite beauty websites and jot down a few ideas. I also have a to do list which tells me what I need to photograph and write up for the week ahead. I try to plan every post for the next 7 days but that doesn't usually go to plan!

  3. My schedule isn't actually that different. I just like to write the post first and then edit the pictures. Usually I schedule all my posts as I like to stick to the same uploading time. Also I normally set myself an alarm to not forget about tweeting and instagramming the post.

  7. I love your photography! I found this really helpful and interesting, I need to start writing ideas down as I get so many at once and then none at other times in the month.

  8. I like to keep a journal of post ideas as well. It really helps me out when I'm in a slump. Since my schedule is so crazy, it allows me to make the most of my blogging time.
