Models Own Hypergel Range

left / right Cornflower Gleam, Cerise Shine
L-R Pint Veneer , Coral Glaze
Lilac Sheen

It was only two weeks ago that I came across a half price code for Models Own nail polish and even their new hyper gel range. Once I knew that I could get their new range for half the price I had to take them up on the offer so I chose five of the hyper gel range shades ( named above). My first impression of the polishes was a good one I love they're packaging and how they have the colours on the top of the bottle which makes it easier to choose the colour you want to apply. The brush is the same as the rest of Models Own polishes and not at all thick which doesn't bother me as I sometimes get a better application with a thinner brush. The shades are very true to colour and my favourite is Pink veneer a light pink shade something I don't own. I received so many compliments on my nails when I wore this shade as it really complemented  my pale complexion.

The formula of the polishes is quite different compared to the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine. Models Own has a thicker consistency which I'm not too keen on. In terms of the finish it is glossy but not as shiny as the Barry M gel range and I cant help but apply a top coat. Due to the formula being slightly thicker only one coat is needed but maybe two for the lighter shades but all the photos above were only painted with one coat. All the shades I chose are very spring / summer themed and will look great on the pinkies! The best thing about the polishes is how cheap they were with all five coming in at £12.50 but they usually retail at £5 which is still very reasonable but seeing as the Barry M range is cheaper I think I would pick them up quicker than the Models Own version.

Have you tried the new Hyper Gel range ?

  2. I absolutely love the Barry M gelly range. But I haven't tried anything from Models own. I think I might order some of these Hyper Gels when they'll be available on asos :). The blue one is just super pretty :).

  5. Love the look of all the colours, I think that the thick formula would annoy me too much though! x

  6. I bought a few of these with the 50% code, and have so far found them too thick to get a good application :(

  7. Great post! Going to have to try some of these out - not generally much of a nail polish type of girl (I tend to stick to the cheaper versions) but I've seen only positive things about the brand *fingers crossed*

  9. I love the HyperGels! I picked up the pink, the lilac and the white, but I wish I'd picked up the cerise pink too! Although I do like them, I do think they're a bit tricky to apply as the formula is quite thick! xo

  11. I have to say that those polishes look amazing. Though if they are as you described there are definitely nothing for me. I rather like thick brushed and thin textures because for then it's easier to apply evenly.

  15. I've been wanting these polishes ever since I saw them! I've been looking for gel polishes without the UV and then they had their 50% off but I was on a spending ban (still am), I'm trying this year to be stricter with myself so I didn't buy them. These look lovely and I've heard good things so as soon as my ban is over I'm definitely buying some
