GGTBB / keeping your readers coming back for more

Firstly I just want to stay thank you to every one who read the posts last week I hope it was helpful. This week we will be discussing how you can keep readers coming back for more. Once again Maddy and Brittany will be both doing this post as well like last week so give their post a look too. Ideally we as bloggers  all want an audience and one that stays it tells us we are doing something right and just maybe people like our blog so the question commonly asked is how do we get readers to come back for more. I am in no way an expert and there are people in the blogging world that have a larger following and experience but I just want to share what I think has worked for me.

I think the most important thing is to have a schedule and to post often something which I wasn't aware of when I first started blogging. This is a very hard thing to do especially if you have other commitments like work or school but to make my life a bit easier I schedule like crazy. I would ideally like to be able to post daily but it's something I can't physically do so I have settled for three posts a week Monday , Wednesday and Friday. I'm not the best with my schedule and it's something  I need to work on  but if you can keep posting on the same day at the same time then your readers will know when to come back for a new post. During the week I schedule my post for 8 am as it's early enough for people to check their Bloglovin' feed before work or school.

I also mentioned in my last post that if you schedule Tweets it can also help readers who use Twitter to check out new posts to come back for more. I think it's important for your blog to have a structure so if you place your image before the writing then do that the whole way through , have the same size of images throughout your blog as well. I think your content is also an extremely important factor to keep your readers coming back for more. I don't think you should have extremely long posts as the reality is no one will read it and probably not come back for more. Blog design and photos also give readers an instant impression and sometimes as hard as it is to accept people will make a judgement on these things and this could stop them from coming back so clear, large photos and a simple easily navigated  site will make your readers stay.Make sure to check out both Maddy and Brittany's post on this topic and make sure to come back next week where we will be discussing blog design.

  6. Great tips. I've recently moved to self-hosting my Wordpress blog and am going back to old posts to tweak them before making it live, and generally making sure everything is looking okayish (even temporarily whilst I build my own custom theme!). I wish I'd read posts like these before I started blogging - though from next week I'm definitely going to try and stick to a schedule!

  9. I totally agree, since the start of this year I post every other day, it is really important to keep a schedule, no one wants to keep coming back to the same old posts

Please come check out my latest post if you have time :)

  10. This has been very helpful though I think that I've already managed most of the mentioned things. I love to keep everything easy and the same and I almost have the same blogging schedule as you. But i think i tend to write too long blogposts. I will try to work on that.

  11. I definitely agree about having a regular schedule but also remembering things like keeping the format the same. I'm very new to blogging and it's taken me a few attempts to work out exactly how some posts will look - I'm fussy enough to have gone back through all of my recipe posts and edited the layout of some so they all look the same now :)
